Teacher Development

Girl CodeRunners is a FREE 5-day summer camp for female middle school students to give them first-hand experience of science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM). 

The summer camp will include hands-on activities to help the students explore and expand their understanding of:

  1. Webpage design using HyperText Markup Language (HTML)
  2. Animation, gaming, storytelling using SCRATCH
  3. Robotics using LEGO Mindstorm EV3 

The content of the camp will be repeated each week.

Lunch: A free lunch will be provided for students each day.


To be eligible you must be a girl in either grades 6th, 7th, or 8th grade in Fall 2019.


How to Register:

Students must submit an application and be accepted into the program for admission.

  • Submit an application form by May 3, 2019: (Fill form HERE)
    • Students will receive notice of their acceptance by May 17, 2019 with the registration packet.
    • UTSA Release and Indemnification Agreement for Participant
    • UTSA Photo Release Form
    • Camp Behavior Policies and Rules
  • Mail or deliver the completed application packet to:

A student’s registration will not be confirmed until the registration packet has been submitted. All registration packets must be received by May 27th. 


Cancellation Policy

If you will not be able to attend the week you assigned you must send an email to to cancel the registration and so your slot can be given to another student or to make arrangements to place you in another session.
